Kloofendal Nature Reserve
Introduction
Kloofendal Nature Reserve is a 128 hectare, public facility, managed by Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo, and is subject to public space bylaws. The reserve is completely fenced off and security guards are on duty day and night.
Public Open Space Bylaws
A number of public space bylaws pertain to Kloofendal Nature Reserve. These bylaws ensure a safe and amicable environment for everyone to enjoy. According to the bylaws the following are not permitted:
- Consumption of alcohol.
- Electronic music.
- Littering.
- Ball games.
- Dogs or pets.
- Removing of any object from the reserve.
- Collecting of animals or plants.
Please note that these bylaws will be enforced by the Kloofendal Security personnel.
Reserve Open Hours
The reserve is open everyday including weekends and public holidays from 6am to 6pm. Note that there is no entry after 5pm.
Entry to the reserve is free for groups of up to 20 people. A booking must be made for groups of more than 20 people. See below for booking contacts.
Kloofendal Nature Reserve offers
A variety of outdoor activities can be enjoyed within the reserve.
- Hiking.
- Bird watching.
- Guided nature walks of many nature topics for people of all ages.
- Involvement in environment and community projects.
- Picnicking.
- Braai facilities are available (No booking required).
- Executive lapa and braai lapa (booking required).
